Nadine Shah’s music is impossible to pigeonhole. With the gift of storytelling, her music skirts folk with edges of striking alternative rock that pay homage to PJ Harvey, and an imaginative lick of jazz adventurism.
Working with producer Ben Hillier, her 2013 debut Love Your Dum And Mad was a striking and moving record written around the death of two friends who took their own lives. Returning with a new LP in 2015, Fast Food is a strong progression that The Guardian called, “Passion-drenched but poised love songs,” and that proves she still has so much to bring.
After spending much of 2016 scoring a play, Shah returns to her first love of music to headline Shepherd's Bush Empire in October. Get ready to be utterly compelled by her natural wonder.
