Australian-born composer Ben Frost creates his bewildering soundscapes from his home in Reykjavík, Iceland.
The musician and producer's long list of influences are certainly evident across his vast body of work, from black metal to minimalist electronic his versatility spans both the genre and style of his music.
When it comes to his music, Frost prides himself on his collaborative enterprise and using his talent as a means of contrasting, combining and using a multitude of artistic mediums in his work, be that music and technology or performance, the body and art.
Frost's latest projects include a critically acclaimed Opera adaptation of Iain Bank's 1984 novel The Wasp Factory and most recently he worked on the soundtrack for Sky Atlantic's murder mystery series Fortitude.
His 2014 album AURORA is expansive, overwhelming and packed with electronic flourishes, intricacies and some more off the cuff moments like the metal-influenced Diphenyl Oxylate. With new music expected from Frost soon, watch this space.
